When I first threw a leg over a Harley-Davidson motorcycle in October 2002 my life changed forever–all for the better, I might add.
Since that first day on the road in 2002, I have logged more than 150,000 miles on three different Harleys–a used 2001 Electra Glide Classic, a new 2004 Electra Glide Ultra and a new 2007 Electra Glide Ultra (the current ride affectionately known as “The Green Machine”).
Along with my wife, The Harley Honey, our travels on the motorcycle have included several rides to Las Vegas, to Milwaukee for the 100th birthday party, a couple of trips to Sturgis, along the Gulf of Mexico Coast in Louisiana and Texas and many points in between.
My purpose for this blog is to write about the special karma of motorcycle riding, other motorcycle riders and events, rides and just about anything connected to motorcycles, especially Harleys. Occasionally, I’ll venture into other topics but will alway try to somehow tie my comments back to motorcycling or Harleys.
I hope you enjoy this blog. Please offer your comments and thoughts about the blog. Also, if you’d like me to write about a particular topic, let me know.
Ride safe!
P.S.: In my other life, I was the editor of The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal for several years before retiring from the newspaper business in January 2006. Later, I formed Sanders Communications and offer media and political advice to my clients. If you are in need of media consulting, please feel free to contact me at randy.sanders@suddenlink.net.
I very much enjoy your blog. Gorgeous bike! I’ve got a blog at http://mrzip66.com and surfed around and found yours. Hope to see you on the road someday.
Only cycle I ever owned was a Kawasaki KE-100 and it was great for Las Vegas City streets UNTIL the 95 highway was built, then everyone learned how to go fast in Vegas and how to “push” bikes off the roadway. It just got too dangerous to ride a Harley or anything on two wheels here.
Nice Blog!
Actually this is the first Blog I have ever taken part in!!
